Too Good OR Not Good
After a long time 'silent' on this page, I come again to fill in the 'blank'.
Well, sometime I feel this blogging is wasting time because it is a 'useless' page. This page make me want to express anything. Such a diary in a book. (PS: I don't like diary)
Back to the topic, my previous topic Masih Cari Kerja talked about myself yang masih cari kerja (finding a job). After 1 year, I'm still finding a job. Where's the job? Is there any job in this world that I can apply? Why every friend of I were able to find a job except me?. These questions is quite a multi-difficult. I can't answer all of them.
Actually, right now, I want to find something new.
I'm already became a teacher, Physics, Mathematics, ICT, Science and simple English. These are the subject that I had to teach to the students. (3 different schools).
I'm already become a cashier before apply for the temporary teacher/substitute teacher. A cashier is a simple and easy job. I'm just handle with money. But the thing that I don't like is, I need to work for 12 HOURS!!!! Without any overtime fee. Very frustrated! That why I stop. So, for those people who have 12 hours work-time without any overtime fee, I advice you to find a new job. Malaysia only ask a person to work for 8 hours only. More than that means you'll get an overtime fee.
Back to the teacher. Becoming a teacher means you have to prepare mental 150% and physical 120%. This is because you are a working with person with different character and problems. And of course, you still need to work with a machine too like computer, programming, projector, photostat machine and many more simple and 'serabut' machine. It is not a simple task. Documentation, teaching, discipline and many more are the teacher's job scope. That why you should respect your teacher. They need to work for 24 hours. At school, teacher teach the student and do co-curricular activities (sport day, teacher day, canteen day and many more). Meanwhile, when they arrive at home, they still need to do the work such as documentation for the students and also the teacher itself. Besides, the have to prepare the learning objectives, marking the student's book and some side jobs such as cooking and clean the room. Some of the teachers told me that the most stressful job is becoming a teacher because you have to be an accounting (internal audit), a teacher (teaching), a police (discipline), a human resource (documentation), planner (event) and many more.
Well, all of these tasks had been done by me. I'd felt how stressful are they as a teacher. That I, right now, I am a better person. I'm able in conducting a group of people, high confident because to teach a person, we have to be confident in delivering the topic. Creative person. Need to prepare a thousand of techniques to conquer the heart of the students. If not, everything is useless. We only get a boring and tired class. Moreover, I'd to be fast-leaner because I never took a education courses especially physiology or pedagogy. Is this a merit or not?
Oh! Do you still remember PBS (Pentaksiran Berasaskan Sekolah)?. This program is been launched by the ministry of education in 2012. The Form 1,2 and 3 does not to sit for an final of mid examination. Their result were based on their daily quiz. Today, there is no more PBS in school, everything back to normal. Examination is the best in evaluating the student. Before that, I want to tell you why this PBS is over. My school had conducted a PBS daily. Student have to think out of the box. Student have to listen and understand the topic on the same day. (It is a good thing, right?) But, the plan is turnover. Burn in ashes. The student still unable to thing out of the box, teacher stress out because they (student) not understand every PBS tasks. Although, some of the brilliant student were able to do the PBS tasks but they still fell in the examination.(School do the mini-exam for the record book). Most of the brilliant student only got C and B in the simple subject (Bahasa Melayu and History).
The conclusion is PBS is not good (maybe?)
I wanna add something. This PBS thing had made a divorce happened in the house. Teacher need to upload the student's band (based on student's PBS tasks) in the PBS site. The site is using some 'season' system that resulting in 'buffering' in uploading. Not only one hour to wait the system 'ok', but some teacher need to wait the whole 'nite' until the system is ok again. Wow!.. Teacher is a 'machine'. No need to sleep and eat and rest and many more. So, the case happened. Husband and wife fighting in the house due to this, Stressful and tiredness. Of course the end of the fight is divorcing. Yes! A case is increasing day by day until .............. (I don't know)
I'm not saying that all the PBS program is bad. But we need to recheck everything so that we can remake our education system in a better ways without sacrifice a thing.
Now, there are PISA and TIMSS. Only for Science and Mathematics (Form 2 and Form 3).(You can check about this program in www.moe.edu.my or you can 'google' it). This education program is specially made for the student, so that, they can need to think out of the box. Every question in these programs is not easy. These program is made to increase our education system. Make our education level just like US, South Korea and many developed countries. To archive this, the Science and Mathematics teacher need to add their working hours. Making a tuition class for the students. Again, teacher is a 'machine' ? I hope this program is successful because some of the developed country (Singapore) does not believe our education system. They said, our edu system is out, old and not good.
(PS: I had attend an interview in KL. The interviewer is an Singaporean. He said, he not believe Malaysian's student due to our education system. So, I didn't got the job =( )
Malaysia need to do some replenishment to the education system. This should not in the politic system. Every leader should be cooperate each other in remake our education system. No more try and error and victims. The leader need to think out of the box.
If I want to explain every jobs that every teachers have to do, you will need to wait until next year or maybe next 5 years. Teacher's job scope is keep increasing and changing. So, there is no full stop to this. Make sure you guys study hard and make the teacher proud of you. They had worked 24 hours, only for your success.
